Mike’s Blog

Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m using this to keep family and friends up to date as my daughters grow up. I will write about other things that are meaningful to me as well, but mostly the girls and what our family is up to. I suppose it kinda depends on what I’ve taken pictures of too. For your sake, pray that we take interesting pictures. I hope you enjoy!

After dinner the girls each picked out their own design with mama. Then, while mama was cutting out designs, Joy and dada made lids and scooped out the innards.
Mama cut out the designs and we taped ‘em onto the newly hollowed pumpkins. Then mama and dada went to work with the carving tools. The pumpkins were transformed into Jack-0-Lanterns and the girls love them and can’t wait to put them outside to greet the trick-or-treaters.
She loves to do things that big sister is doing. Abby has Joy’s Look-A-Like doll dressed up in a Tinker Bell costume and is dancing just like in the picture on the TV. She was feeling a little sick yesterday, throwing up and everything, but seems to be doing much better today.
Joy got into building this Princess out of little connect things. This Princess was on the box of the pieces and Joy stuck to it to finish it. It is harder than it looks. She now wants to tear it apart and create her own design from scratch. If it comes to fruition, we’ll blog about it.

The girls both have birthday parties today. Our family will divide and conquer to get things done.

It’s a beautiful day today, supposed to be around 72 degrees.

Out today on our regular Friday afternoon Geocaching adventure. We took pipeline up to Elden Lookout Road and then took Rocky Ridge trail to Schultz Creek Trail. This was on the way up Schultz Creek Trail. I hit a rock and lost my momentum on the way up a 20 foot climb and then the rock pushed me to the left where I couldn’t reach the ground and went down into this wash. A couple scratches on me and the bike, but I am just fine. A day afterwards, I’m not even aware that I landed down there. From here we went up the Little Gnarly and then on Upper Brookbank Trail to get a cache ( http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=d3865ea1-4c1d-45f0-bf94-a28487cc923f ). This was my 105th geocache found. We then headed back down to town. About a three hour trip overall, lots of fun.

So far on my new bike, I’ve logged about 135 miles. From riding to work each day, my cardio system is getting into better shape, Sue and I are both excited about that.

They are definitely warming up to one another.
Sometimes it seems like Rusty is trying a little harder than Edgar, although as we know, friendships are always a two way street!
We had black beans and brown rice with wheat tortillas followed by a birthday bowl of grapes with candles! We had a lot of fun. Joy got in the middle of this birthday picture. :)
